Apple Crumble Pie Product Information

All our Dutch style apple pies are handmade, baked and packaged in small batches in our registered kitchens in North Leeds.

Shelf life

Our apple pies are best consumed within 5 days. The apple pies are best stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sun. Or in the fridge.

Freezing

Alternatively, the pies can be kept for longer by freezing them. Simply place them in a freezer bag in your freezer.

Reheating the pie

Place the whole frozen pie directly from frozen in a 175 degrees preheated oven for about 60min. Reheating pies in the oven hardly compromises the pie. In fact, there are some who feel it makes them better. One thing is for sure, the smell of baked apple pie will fill your home with delight.

For individual (non-frozen) slices we recommend heating them for 2min using the defrost setting of the microwave. This is much quicker than using the oven. And we have found that the defrost setting is a lot more forgiven on the pastry. Leaving it pretty much intact (and non-soggy) while gently warming the pie. Do not put it on the full-on microwave setting as this will leave the pie all mushy.

Serving suggestions

Dutch apple pie is traditionally served with sweet whipped cream. But it is just as enjoyable with custard, cream or ice-cream.
