Linzer Torte


An Austrian classic comes to Leeds

This tart from the Austrian city of Linz hits the spot for lovers of jam tarts. Our Linzer Torte is like a jam tart in cake form. We enrich the shortcrust pastry with nuts, spices and cocoa powder. The jam we use is red currant, as it is a nice contrast to the sweet pastry. Flaked almonds decorate the edges, add texture and round the flavour off.

It is with good reason that the Austrians have a reputation when it comes to their baked goods. They are true masters and this Linzer Torte is definitely one to please the British palate.

Wheat flour, sugar, butter, ground almonds, red currant jelly (Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Redcurrant Juice From Concentrate, Sugar, Gelling Agent (Pectin), Citric Acid, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate)), eggscocoa powder (cocoa powder 93%, acidity regulators: Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Carbonates), flaked almonds, cinnamon, baking powder, cloves.
